Pakistan U-23 football team has left on Saturday for Sri Lanka to take part in the four-nation H.E. Mahinda Rajapaksa International Football Tournament from December 3 to 9, 2012 at Nawalapitiya, Jayathilaka Stadium-Sri Lanka. The tournament will help to develop its Pakistan U-23 squad for participation in South Asian Games likely to be organised in September 2013. Kaleemullah captain of the team expressed his resolve to show good performance in the event.

Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are competing in the tournament. There will be two matches every other day commencing from December 3 where Sri Lanka will play against Maldives in the opening match. Pakistan will open their mission on December 3 with the match against Bangladesh, followed by their games against Maldives on December 5 and against Sri Lanka on December 7. The final will be played on December 9 between group winner and group runner up.
